ATTENTION!: BEFORE requesting the scheduling of Dissertation or Thesis defenses (does not apply to Qualification Exams), students must complete their academic record, meaning they must request the registration of all other requirements needed to complete the course by sending the necessary supporting documents to the Program.

According to the PPG FARMABIO Regulations, to complete the academic record for the Master's Course, students must demonstrate English proficiency, complete a teaching internship, one complementary activity per year enrolled in the program, and have at least 14 course credits (including mandatory courses) and 6 credits in scientific activities.

For the Doctoral Course, students must demonstrate English proficiency, complete a teaching internship, one complementary activity per year enrolled in the program, and have at least 18 course credits (including mandatory courses) and 8 credits in scientific activities.


Diploma Request:

AFTER the Dissertation or Thesis defense, students have up to one month to send the required documents by email to (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to request the issuance of their diploma:

  1. The final version of the Dissertation or Thesis document with the corrections requested by the Examination Committee and approved by the advisor, including the cataloging sheet after the cover and title page (see instructions below for how to obtain it after final corrections are made).

How to obtain the cataloging sheet to include in the Dissertation/Thesis Document:

  • Go to the UFPA Library website: https://bc.ufpa.br/
  • Click on Products > Cataloging Sheet
  • Carefully fill out the form (note that this form can only be filled out after final corrections are made and you have the final page count of the document)
  • Click on "Generate Cataloging Sheet" at the end of the form

Sending all documents by email, as described above, is a required condition for the diploma issuance process. If any documents are missing, submitted late, or sent incorrectly, the diploma cannot be issued.

  1. Signed Authorship Declaration and Authorization Form (click HERE to obtain the template)
  2. A copy of an article submitted or published by the student in a Qualis A3 or higher journal, at minimum.

English Proficiency:

The student must demonstrate English proficiency through a specific exam held by the Program or by requesting accreditation. On May 18, 2021, the FARMABIO Collegiate approved the list of accepted certificates for English proficiency:

  • TOEFL (minimum of 213 for TOEFL-CBT, 550 for TOEFL-PBT, 80 for TOEFL-iBT, 460 for TOEFL-ITP)
  • TOEIC (minimum 550)
  • Cambridge PET
  • IELTS (minimum score of 5)
  • TEAP (Test of English for Academic Purposes, minimum score of 50)

Also accepted:

  • A passing certificate from the UFPA PROFILE test or from other Brazilian Federal Institutions (IFES), with a minimum grade of 7.0 or rating of "GOOD"
  • English comprehension tests previously applied by other UFPA graduate programs
  • A certificate of completion of a basic-level English course finalized within the last five years
